The Scottish Universities Physics Alliance (SUPA) opens a single front door into physics PhDs in Scotland. When you apply for a SUPA Prize PhD Studentship they will also be considered for all other funded places available in physics departments in Scotland.

Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.

 

Scholarship Type

Studentships are available for PhD study at one of the participating universities: Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Heriot-Watt, St. Andrews, Strathclyde and University of the West of Scotland.

 

Eligible Fields of Study

Studentships are awarded for SUPA Themes: Astronomy and Space Physics. Condensed Matter and Materials Physics, Energy, Particle Physics, Photonics, Physics and Life Sciences and Nuclear and Plasma Physics.

 

Scholarship is applicable for studying in: Scotland, UK

 

Value of Award

100 Prize studentships will be awarded competitively. The studentships provide support for tuition fees, a stipend and a travel grant for a three-and-a-half-year period. SUPA is the funding body for the prize studentships.
